ABOUT COLORISED
COLORISED Sp. z o.o. (formerly CD3D) is one of the most renowned and longest-operating companies in the Polish AM industry. COLORISED is advertising and editorial company specializing in additive manufacturing. Beyond that, COLORISED provides trainings, consultancy, and implementation of 3D printers, software and equipment.
The company was founded in 2015 by Pawel Slusarczyk, a recognized writer and consultant in the global AM industry, who is also considered the ’official 3D printing historian.’ From 2015 to 2023, the company operated under the name CD3D. In September 2023, the name was changed to COLORISED.
’Centrum Druku 3D’ legacy
In January 2013, the Centrum Druku 3D portal was launched as the largest and longest-running website dedicated to additive manufacturing in Poland and the third longest-running portal of its kind in Europe. In March 2016, the English-language version of the portal, the 3D Printing Center was launched as an independent platform.
Centrum Druku 3D has played a crucial role in the development of the AM industry in Poland. All major companies in the country, such as Zortrax, Sinterit, 3DGence, ATO Lab, CadXpert, get3D, Spectrum Filaments, Fiberlogy, and Technology Applied – all debuted on the portal. Centrum Druku 3D was the first in the industry worldwide to launch a business directory (BAZA FIRM), where all significant companies in Poland, founded between 2014-2018, initially registered. It also created the first catalog of Polish and foreign 3D printers available on the Polish market (BAZA DRUKAREK 3D).
Centrum Druku 3D also facilitated market entry for major international 3D printer and consumables manufacturers such as Stratasys, 3D Systems, HP, Materialise, MakerBot, Ultimaker, Formlabs, Roboze, colorFabb and BCN3D in Poland.
In 2024 Centrum Druku 3D was sold and is no longer associated with COLORISED.
CD3D Industry Awards
Between 2014 and 2019, the CD3D (now COLORISED) organized the world’s first industry competition – the 'CD3D Industry Awards’, evaluating and recognizing companies active in the Polish additive technologies market. In 2019, CD3D held the first Polish 3D Printing Championships, culminating in an Award Gala that consistently drew hundreds of industry representatives from Poland and abroad. Unfortunately, in 2020 the competition was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic and never restored.
During the competition, companies, products and events were assessed in 15 categories. The main prize was Cedrics – statuettes printed in SLS or MJF technologies, which referred to the robot from the logo of the Centrum Druku 3D portal.
CD3D Medical and SKAFFOSYS bioprinter
In 2018–2019, CD3D undertook an independent research and development project, resulting in the creation of SKAFFOSYS, the first Polish commercial bioprinter. The bioprinter had its world premiere in March 2019, along with the announcement of the Open Bioprinting Cluster and the CD3D Medical brand.
A total of 21 SKAFFOSYS bioprinters were installed at the Laboratory of Molecular and Nanostructural Biophysics in Bionanopark in Lodz, Poland. The project received support from the Center for Molecular and Macromolecular Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
Unfortunately, despite very promising traction, the project had to be suspended due to the inability to secure further funding amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, it remains the first and most ambitious independent bioprinting project in Poland to date, developed outside academic institutions.
In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, CD3D was one of the leaders and organizers of a nationwide 3D printing movement producing protective face shields for healthcare workers. The company also became the official European producer and distributor of Copper3D’s NANOHACK 2.0 antibacterial protective masks. The project was promoted by Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
CD3D turns into COLORISED
In 2023, CD3D began the formal process of selling the 'Centrum Druku 3D’ portal, during which the company rebranded as COLORISED. For several months, this brand was used to promote and sell products from a sister company – GREENFILL3D, which included eco-friendly lamp shades and lighting accessories (protective frames for electrical outlets and light switches, as well as protective rings for mounting lights on stretch ceilings).
Centrum Druku 3D was sold in early 2024. After brief stint in other areas of business, in mid-2024, COLORISED fully returned to marketing, consulting, and sales activities within the AM field. The company is now developing three brands:
